Two movies over the weekend

127 Hours (2010)
Danny Boyle never disappoints. And, thanks to this film, his name is now etched in my mind as one of the best directors in the film industry. It is exciting to note how a simple storyline can be extended into a movie. The narrative’s premise can easily make any film a bore, but with Boyle’s visual and directorial aesthetic skills, nothing is dull.

There is so much truth in 127 Hours that it seems more like a full-length documentary than a narrative film. The story and the treatment are so convincing — well, the film is based on a true story, so there’s that — that the film will make you want more.

Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax (2012)
Something relevant to this day — much so that it relates to our present environmental situation and it gives us hope amid the seemingly hopelessness of the world. This film reminds us that we are not just one individual; we can change the world if we decide to. ;) •
