Cory ng EDSA | Philippine Stagers Foundation (PSF)

I watched Cory ng EDSA with my friend Jessey, who was part of the latest batch of participants in a workshop under Philippine Stagers Foundation (PSF), in Adamson University even if we have our midterm examinations the following day. Another friend, Ate Chit, who participated in the same workshop, is now a proud member of PSF. (Happy for her.)

We know Cory Aquino as an image of democracy and of hope for a better nation. She made some sacrifices to make right what the Marcos administration made wrong. Cory ng EDSA celebrates her life through the eyes of fictional reporter Peter.


I applaud Atty. Vincent Tañada for having written and directed such a wonderful and powerful Filipino musical. This is a head start for an independent and youthful theater group of the country.

I love all the production numbers, but the latter part of the storyline gets melodramatic and quite boring due to so much dialogue. Also, Cory was portrayed in a good light, which is just fine, but the negative aspects of her administration was left in the shadows.

For what it’s worth, members of PSF are talented and versatile. This is a theater group that needs and deserves recognition. •
