Earlier, the Office of the Ombudsman dismissed graft charges against former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in connection with the fertilizer fund scam for lack of evidence. Recently, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced that the “Hello Garci” case of electoral fraud in 2004 has been closed because the five-year prescription period for electoral offenses has already expired.

Now, prosecution lawyers rest their case against GMA, in relation to the alleged misuse of PCSO funds, for having no more witnesses to present. •
