Que barbaridad
I have my moments. Moments when I shine and outshine everyone. Moments when I feel relaxed and at ease with myself and my environment. Moments when I feel invincible. Today, I am not having that moment.
Maybe I am not used with my new bed. Or I am not comfortable with the smell of our newly-painted dormitory. Or maybe I am just having another moment. A different one. That moment when I feel insecure. That moment when I feel neither tired nor uninspired, yet I cannot smile even at the craziest jokes.
I need Ana Manalastas in my life. I feel lost... or not really lost, but clueless of the “right” way to deal with life. Being on top of the class, being everybody else, puts me on everybody’s “eye watch”. Every little thing I do merits attention. Every word that comes out of my mouth means serious business to them. The decisions I make for myself are either criticized or imitated by others.
How does one deal with one’s insecurities when other people are insecure of one, too? How should one feel when one is being talked behind one’s back, even if one really did nothing wrong at all? How does one face the harsh reality when all one wants to believe is the goodness in everyone? How should one react when the very idea one had has been credited to somebody else, worse, one’s very friend?
I need a confidant(e). I need an adviser. I need Ms. Gwen. Or Ate Ross. Or maybe, I just have to go home. •
